Last week in Early Years the children were learning all about Minibeasts. They had fun using the magnifying glasses to investigate the plastic minibeasts at our curiosity unit and used the playdough with raisins and pipe cleaners to make a Ladybird, linking in with our focus story of ‘What the Ladybird heard’.  

We learned all about different types of minibeasts and their habitats and had a go at writing some minibeast facts. We also looked at what animals you may find on a farm and focused our writing around their colours, e.g. The pig in pink. 

In math’s we were developing our recognition and understanding of numbers 13, 14 and 15, our 1:1 counting and subtraction using PPW.
