British Science Week
This week Year 5 have been enjoying British Science week, where the slogan was ‘Science is fun’. We have completed two scientific investigations. In the first one, we investigated how changing the surface of a ramp would affect how far a vehicle could travel. Children were challenged to check their results and try to work out if their prediction was correct and if not, why? Our second investigation involved a real-life problem faced by people in Nepal, who grow tomatoes high up in the mountains, but have to transport them down quickly, without damaging them. Children tried to use levers and pulleys to transport tomatoes from the desk to the floor without touching them. It was a great experience and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.
