Year 5 have had a busy start to the term. We have started a new topic in French and are now learning about our solar system; this fits brilliantly with our science, studying the universe. First, we had to finish our experiments on states of matter. We used hot, warm and cold water to dissolve sugar; we timed how long it took for the sugar to dissolve – all our predictions were correct.
In English, we have begun studying the poem, The highwayman, by Alfred Noyes. The children loved that this ghostly poem was started on Halloween.
Obviously, we entertained our OFSTED visitors; the children were brilliant and a credit to the school and to you all.
