Early Years ‘Giraffes’ set off on their walk down to the High Street first thing this morning. Once at Pizza Express, we listened to some facts about Italy and the Italian flag, we discussed the ingredients needed to make pizza and then put on our chef’s aprons and hats.
We watched the chef spin the pizza dough in his hand (we were hoping to be able to try this bit!!)
We then had to stretch out the dough into our individual pans using our finger tips, spread on the tomato base, sprinkle on cubes of cheese and finally drizzle on olive oil (this helps the cheese melt more evenly). The chef then put our pizzas into the oven to cook.
Once the pizzas were cooked, they were boxed up and we made our way back to school. Once back at school, we were allowed to try one slice of our pizza and then take the rest home.
An amazing morning, enjoyed by staff and children alike. Thank you Pizza Express!!
