The spring term has started with lots of new topics from Mountains in Geography, to Electricity in Science and a new book – Edward Tulane – in English.

In our English lessons, the children have done some fantastic writing already: describing fear using inference and character portrayals and are gearing up nicely towards a longer piece of assessed writing in the forthcoming weeks.

We incorporated some skills learned in our history lessons in science this week; ordering key events in chronological order!

The children love to work in a group and love to order facts on a timeline and they used excellent collaborative skills to work well as a team and produce strong timelines in their science book as they explored the history of electricity. They are keen to get started on making circuits and planning and conducting investigations using circuits also – watch this space and look out for pictures of their motorised vehicles later in the term!
