We have had a fantastic half term learning about rocks in science, South America in geography, Mr Men in English, fractions and measurement in maths and much more!
Science
In our science lessons this half term, Year 3 have been learning about the different types of rocks: igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. They have developed a fantastic understanding of how each rock is formed and made some brilliant posters to show off their knowledge.

DT – making pasta salad
In our design technology lessons we have been designing, making and evaluating a pasta salad. We thought carefully about the types of ingredients to include and how we might prepare them.
Then, we learnt safe methods for peeling, cutting and grating different vegetables. We did an excellent job, and our pasta salads were delicious!

Computing
In computing we have been learning about organising data. We have learnt about branching databases and have made our own by asking ‘yes or no’ questions.

English
In our English lessons we discovered a disaster had occurred in Mr Men land! Somehow all the characters woke up their opposites so Mr Happy was sad and Mr Loud was silent! The children wrote some fantastic newspaper reports to let the world know about this strange event.
