We have had a busy last few weeks of Spring A in Orcas!
As the children have really enjoyed learning about different biomes in Geography, we have been researching and writing fact files about biomes in English. Inspired by the wonderful illustrations in the book ‘The Incredible Ecosystems of Planet Earth’, we published and then illustrated our own brilliant and informative fact files.
In computing, we have been writing procedures in Logo so that we can pre-program a set of instructions and then use a pre-programmed word in order to draw different shapes. The children were very creative and even worked out how to create a circle, which is very impressive!
In Science, we have been learning about the different stages in the water cycle. In groups, we created our very own water cycle in a bag. We have displayed them in our windows and we will be able to monitor the processes of evaporation, condensation and precipitation throughout the coming months.
We hope that you have a relaxing break and look forward to hearing about what the children have been up to when they return in a week’s time!
