Following our work on forces, we have been considering the effects of friction and air resistance. We made three different sized parachutes and conducted an experiment to determine which one took the longest to descend. The children really enjoyed making the parachutes but mostly liked standing on the desks to drop them!!
This week in PSHE, we have been thinking about how we can keep ourselves safe, particularly online, the children were very knowledgeable about the internet and had many good ideas to share about good and bad practice online.
In English, we have been concentrating on the Neil Gaiman book, Wolves in the Walls, trying to create suspense in our writing. The children have enjoyed working on stories that keep them guessing and have a clever plot twist at the end.
Our Geography focus has been on World Trade and how we import and export goods from around the globe. We have been considering what factors affect supply routes and have had a go at planning our own supply chain for a product. This has helped us to consolidate our atlas work from earlier in the year.
We have finished our second class-book, Holes, this week. It was very exciting and the children are looking forward to making comparisons between the book and the film later this term.
