Wow, what a wonderful day we have had to celebrate World Book Day. The children all look fantastic and the potato creations have blown us away. It has been a wonderful day celebrating all things book related and the children particularly loved getting the chance to go upstairs and listen to different teachers reading stories.
Alongside the excitement of World Book Day we have also been beginning to work on measurement in Maths. We have used language such as bigger, smaller, taller and longer to compare items before moving on to using non-standard units to measure objects. We discovered a problem when our teachers gave us different sized cubes, so then we had to learn how to use a ruler.
We have also started learning about plants, we went on a walk in the sunshine to look for wild and garden plants. We have also planted some beans in our classes that we are observing closely and will hopefully be able to bring home soon.
Don’t forget you are invited in to class next Friday at 2:45 to share our work with us.
