Last week in Early Years we shared the story of the ‘Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson. The children imagined they were a whale and thought about where they would take their snail on an adventure, they then had a go at writing and drawing their ideas.
In Maths the children started exploring numbers above 10 through 1:1 counting, circle games and songs. In our Skills afternoons we learned about different types of Whales in Geography, they listened to the Story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf in RE and enjoyed practising their balancing skills outside on the balancing beams.
We also loved the Fizz Pop Science workshop, where we made our own Sherbert and learned all about how bubbles are made.
