Already over half way through November and rapidly rolling towards.. oh no better not mention that yet!

Year 2 have all had a fantastic start to the year and encountered many new learning experiences.

Recently in Maths we have been looking at adding and subtracting. Whilst building our knowledge of number, we have begun to look at Column method, lining up our numbers carefully. We had great fun discovering what happens when there are more than 9 ones in the ones column!

We have absolutely loved exploring a range of Julia Donaldson books in English, developing our descriptive writing and building our understanding of Word Classes. Can you explain to someone at home what a Noun, Adjective or Verb is? Maybe you can remember what a Preposition does?
Our favourite task was designing our very own Witches broom!

Alongside all of this, we have begun to look at a man called Guy Fawkes and his role within the gunpowder plot. The big question is… How does this link to Bonfire Night and more importantly Somerset’s fantastic Carnival?

For Remembrance day we all designed and created our own Poppy. Miss Whitehouse put these up in our window for everyone to see. Here is the photo… can you spot yours?
