In Dolphins Class, we have had a very busy end to the term with an amazing DT project. Through hard work, perseverance and determination we have made moving animal models using a cam mechanism! We had to design our model and then got to work to make a cam and follower that moved up and down. Although it was difficult, we had lots of fun getting creative and building our models.

This term, we have also really enjoyed learning about Antarctica and Ernest Shakleton’s expedition to the South Pole as part of our English lessons. We wrote a letter of application to Ernest Shakleton to join his crew and luckily, we were given the job! As we read more about the incredible expedition, we wrote informal letters about our experiences. We created some fantastic poetry inspired by Antarctica. We wrote kennings and cinquains using interesting vocabulary we had collected by looking at the Antarctic landscape.
