Welcome to
Brookside Academy

In the heart of Somerset, our academy is proud to be a vibrant and inclusive community where every child, whatever their starting point, background or need, is supported to achieve their very best. We firmly believe that every young person has the right to an exceptional educational beginning, and we work every day to make that a reality.

Brookside Academy is a Nursery, School and Specialist Provision for children aged 0–11. This structure allows us to share learning, nurture relationships and celebrate achievements together. Although we are a large academy, we maintain a calm, personal and nurturing environment in which every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

Brookside Academy is a truly unique and special place. Please look over the three distinct sections on this website (Nursery, Mainstream Provision and Specialist Provision) for further information.

It is a privilege to be the Head Teacher of Brookside Academy, and I look forward to working alongside you as we guide your child on their journey through their early education and towards their Secondary School.

Inclusivity and diversity are central to who we are. We strive to ensure that all children develop the skills, confidence, knowledge and understanding they need to thrive in a diverse world. High expectations, purposeful and well‑planned learning, and the dedication of our large professional team underpin everything we do. We have three simple rules across our Academy which underpin much of our learning - Be Kind, Be Safe and Be Responsible. Our rich indoor and outdoor environments offer space to explore, create, collaborate and grow; supporting pupils academically, personally, creatively and through sport.

While we are deeply proud of our Somerset roots and our place within the local community, we also look outward with ambition. We want our children to see beyond the horizon, to be curious about the wider world, and to believe that their aspirations can take them way beyond the limitations we can sometimes set upon ourselves and others.

"Brookside is a fabulous school with positive supportive teachers. We are lucky that my children have had such good support and have made amazing progress here. Thank you and well done for going above and beyond."  - Parent feedback February 2023
